British Standard Nightlatch

A British Standard Nightlatch is a type of lock that is commonly used on the front doors of residential properties in the UK. It is a type of latch lock that is operated by a knob or handle on the inside of the door, and a key on the outside. The lock is designed to automatically engage when the door is closed, and can be locked or unlocked using the key. It is called a "nightlatch" because it can be left locked on the inside while the occupants are sleeping, providing a measure of security against unwanted entry.
